Matt Rinker Outraises Incumbent Archibong for Atlanta City Council race

Atlanta City Council candidate Matt Rinker officially filed reports indicating that he outraised long-term incumbent politician Natalyn Mosby Archibong over the weekend. The report indicates Rinker raised $12,125.01 from 126 contributors during the first quarter of 2013.  Archibong filed reports indicating she raised $9,385.00 which includes $2,000 from Rep. Howard Mosby, her brother, and 12 other donors.

Rinker and Archibong are the only declared candidates for the District 5 seat on Atlanta City Council.  They seek to represent residents in neighborhoods like Downtown, East Atlanta, East Lake, Glenwood Park, Kirkwood, Edgewood, Reynoldstown, and Cabbagetown.

“I’m humbled and honored at the grassroots support our campaign is getting,” said Rinker, a real estate professional who lives near the East Atlanta Village. “While I certainly am aware that campaign funds do not make or break a race, I think the contrast between a long-term incumbent politician being funded by other politicians, and our grassroots campaign funded by families and small businesses in the district and across Atlanta, gives a pretty accurate portrayal of the vast differences between myself and the Councilwoman.”
