ReplyJust because you live in Buckhead you are not always safe dozens of crimes occur daily in there so called "safe haven neighborhood" that go unreported by news to keep there image of wealth alive I have heard about many other crimes in this same community where this crime occurred along with Lindberg, Chastain Park and Lenox Rd everything from carjackings to armed robbery. No one should have a false since of security especially in Buckhead.

ReplyAnything will be better than Greenbriar Pkwy actually the entire street should be rename to something else due to the stigma & perception that comes with the name "Greenbriar Pkwy & Greenbriar Mall" shootout in the middle of the mall and low end stores.

ReplyNot only do they need another unit like the RED DOGS but Atlanta needs a special court and prosecutor to acutally convict & sentence these repeat offenders the max sentences. These smash & grabs, carjackers etc.

ReplyIf you act like a thug then you will be treated as such no matter your age, races or background. The officer had every right to use his taser on these wild, rude children I bet in the future they will not fight on the bus for fear of the taser. Problem solved!!!!

ReplyReed has done a good job as Mayor considering the state the last mayor left the city in, but Reed may have a hardtime running for Mayor depending on who he runs against. Some people of Atlanta are still upset with him attempting to push the T-Splost, new stadium and brazen crimes committed by repeat offenders.People must remember Norwood only lost by 700 votes and could have called a recount.

ReplyNow that Mayor Reed has the police force up to 2000 officers he needs to have them outside the police cars and on foot walking the streets to be proactive instead of reactive. It would be good now that the city has a surplus money that the Mayor hire a special prosecutor to go after these smash and grab criminals, burglars and gangs to send those convicted to prison as long as possible instead of putting $300 million into a Dome that does nothing for the community. Hint, no company or family wants to visit a crime ridden city especially downtown and other areas of the city.

ReplyOne of the best articles wirtten on the Patch so far and me being from Atlanta of 35 yrs I think the story should be told for those who dont know the history of Atlanta and are just here looking for employment. Atlanta has many nice parts that have not been discovered yet like Adams Park, Cascade Heights, Peopletown etc. This article and debate is good for the people of Atlanta.
