ReplyZestos is actually at the corner of Moreland and McLendon. I was making a right turn onto McLendon last night (Thursday) around 7:30 pm. An officer was arresting 2 men who were visibly angry and agitated. I don't know any of the details but wonder if this was connected to the shooting at 10:30 pm?

ReplyA lot of people drive by that area and have some type of camera phone with a zoom feature. I think we could all help by taking photos when we see "suspicous" activity going on. With my new phone, I can take a clear photo from a block away.

I just wanted to clarify some of the history. It was the state Dept. of Transportation (DOT) that was tearing down houses block by block. The fight was with the state rather than the city. The lawsuit that stopped the highway was between DOT and CAUTION (a group of intown neighborhoods). Over 400 houses had already been torn down before CAUTION was formed. So yes, many people saw these intown neighborhoods as a huge real estate risk.
