Reply@ Chris H Wrong kid, I've been feeding the homeless with Father John at Our Lady of Lourdes soup kitchen since you were in daipers. In case you need GPS schooling that's on the corner of Boulevard and Edgewood.

Reply@ Eric Scott Sembrat I know the plans are to network the inner city. I get it. Sure. I'm just saying that will NEEEVVVEEER happen, ever. This is the only thing we'll ever see. Mark my words. Again, it's good for the tourist stuff.

Reply@ATL-ien Hey, I hope your right. I love downtown. Cool architecture. Maybe this is the shot in the arm Southside needs. I remember the People Mover Project in downtown Detroit in the mid 1990's connecting the sports arenas, Tiger Stadium, Greektown, business district, etc. it ended up going in circles, empty. It's dubbed the "train to nowhere."

The hardest hit communities from legal and illegal immigration are the poorest American communities. Specifically, the black communities. Tougher illegal laws should be coming from that sector not amnesty. Black youth unemployment is nearing 50% the prisons will only swell if that figure increases.

ReplyWhat the hell are you talking about @ Terence Courtney? Have you been on the phone with the Not-So-Al-Sharpton this morning? Have some coffee & a bagel and cool down the nonsense!

ReplyThis is going to be the train to nowhere. A tourist show piece but not functional for resident Atlantans. Just ask yourself when was the last time you were in Cent. Park, MLK Memorial, World of Coke or downtown? Thought so, point made.

ReplyThis chain is very successful in Miami Beach/Metro. I liked it but I did notice the price point seemed 2-4 dollars higher than I remember. A $10 salad is going to drive people to other options. Midtown still needs more foot traffic. When I walk around every restaurant suffers from half full syndrome. By 9 pm they're all empty.

@Chris H The figure 8 layout only directly connects to the Peachtree Marta station and runs in a relatively small footprint. Yes, if the future "Plans" come into fruition that's great. They should have just ran down Edgewood and t-boned the Inman Station immediately while traversing the beltline making a stop around Krog. The beltline should not have been a bike path first but an operational North/South-Ansley/Piedmont Park line. O4W park is up and running we need a stop there ASAP.
My gripe is I don't think that will happen. We'll have a trophy bike path and a tourist figure 8 at the end of the day. Well, I guess that's somethin'.
