ReplyThe law requires REASONABLE belief, not the unreasonable thought processes of a career felon. There is NOTHING in the victim's behavior that can REASONABLY be construed as threat, particularly nothing that can be construed as an effort to enter the vehicle or attack.
BTW, an individual in the commission of a felony can't claim self defense.

ReplyGeorgia's Stand Your Ground law states a person can use deadly force in order to protect themselves or their property from a violent ATTACK .... not against someone walking in a normal manner toward your vehicle. It allows a person to meet force with force, including deadly force, to defend one's self, property or home.
TDW, your career criminal "Cuz" is legitimately on trial for the murder of an innocent law abiding member of society.

ReplyGrant Park Guy, what makes the new principal's job so much more an uphill battle is the attitude and lack of support (beyond mere lip service) from comunity members such as you and Park Mom. How about engaging, supporting, and participating in your community's high school? THAT is how improvement occurs and the potential for on site gang problems addressed, in partnership with a Principal who has a demonstrated track record of effexctiveness.
The incident reported happened off school grounds, may ort may not have been related to a "gang", and was not particularly significant until an ADULT idiot with a weapon became involved. I have trouble seeing charter high school in that.

ReplySequestration is not the responsibility of the Executive branch. It is the responsibility of the Legislative branch, in particular the obstructionist tactics of Republican congressional leaders and congrssmen with their heads buried firmly in a different decade.
Better Obama then the cut and slash offered by Romney with a goal of ensuring a few rich continue to pay little or no taxes at the expense of the rest of us. -

ReplyPlease provide a scientific reference supporting severe pruning and crowning in mature hardwoods. I have had NO degreed arborist support either practice. Your hacking your own trees to death is not evidence for science based practice nor do you mention actually having had your trees evaluated by a certified arborist. You really haven't a clue as to the REAL health of your trees.

Please provide a reference supporting severe pruning and crowning in mature hardwoods. In much work with certified arborists I have never heard such and the only result of such I've ever seen from those practices is the accelerated loss of old growth hardwoods.The only ones I have ever seen promote those practices are fly by night tree services pitching unneccesary work at inflated rates.
