Neighbor in Need East Atlanta is holding a fundraiser every Thursday in October to help raise funds to further its mission. The East Atlanta Community Association established the program in May 2010. Its main goal is to raise money and complete emergency home repairs for seniors who don't have the financial resources to do so. The program is modeled after the Neighbor in Need program which serves the East Lake, Edgewood and Kirkwood communities. The NIN East Atlanta is looking to raise funds by selling pumpkins at the East Atlanta Farmers Market every Thursday (561 Flat Shoals Ave. SE). All proceeds and donations will go directly toward the home repairs of needy neighbors.
