Early Voters Continue to hit DeKalb, Fulton Polling Precincts

A roundup of the tally so far.

Nov. 6 is Election Day, but many voters in Fulton and DeKalb counties have cast their ballots early. Here's a tally of the votes so far, from Oct. 15 through Oct. 27: DeKalb County Main Office AAP  8,197 25,900 Comm. Achieve. DeKalb Residents Can Vote on Saturday, Oct. 20

As of Wednesday, more than 16,000 DeKalb County residents had cast early ballots. County residents will have two chances for Saturday voting.

by Patch Staff East Atlanta Patch registered voters who live in DeKalb County — Candler Park, Edgewood, Lake Claire, Kirkwood, East Lake, Gresham Park and East Atlanta — can  cast their ballots from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, Saturday, Oct. 20, at the following locations: Saturday voting will also be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at the same locations. You don't need to give any reason to vote early. But remember to take one of these forms of photo ID with you so you don't have problems: From Oct. 29 to Nov. 2, four other polls will be open for early voting: No early voting will be allowed on Saturday, Nov. 3, or Monday, Nov. 5.

  Gov. Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama faced off for the second time on Tuesday. The candidates debated in a town meeting format including foreign and domestic policy. The debate was held at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, and was sponsored by the Commission on Presidential Debates. The moderator was CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley. You do realize George that the governments role is to protect the country not financially support the citizens, right? If a woman wants to be that active shall we say (to be kind) she should be able to afford her own contraceptives and if not don't participate. Early Voters Hit DeKalb, Fulton Polling Precincts

More than 10,000 cast their ballots on Monday.

  Many voters are taking advantage of the opportunity to cast their ballots early. Early voting began Monday and lasts through Nov. 2. The general election is Nov. 6. Nearly 5,000 voters in Fulton County had cast their ballots by the end of the day Monday, according to the Fulton County Department of Registration & Elections. In DeKalb County, 5,529 residents had voted as of Monday's tally, according to the DeKalb County Voter Registration & Elections Office. by Jason Wayne I found out this past week that there was a solid chance I wouldn't have been able to vote in the upcoming national election due to a technicality, and if I did vote, it was at risk of it being seen as fraudulent. As I sit here filling out a form to update my voter registration information, I thought it would probably be a good idea to share my experience with others. With all of the voter fraud legislation some folks have pushed through over the last decade, there are a lot of people who - like me - who have become or are at risk of becoming ineligible to legitimately vote and may not find that out until election day, when it's too late, or I reckon they may continue voting without finding out at all. Training sessions designed to provide residents with information about voter registration, identification requirements and to conduct voter registration drives.
