Veterans Day is a federal and state holiday. Established Non. 12, 1919 by President Woodrow Wilson, the day celebrates America's veterans and the signing of the Armistice bringing about the end of World War I. So today, we thank the 21.5 million living veterans as well as those who served before them for their service to our country and the sacrifices they have made and continue to make. In honor of our vets, several restaurants are offering Veteran's Day specials in and around metro Atlanta, according to Atlanta.About.com:

Our neighbor to the north, Canada, and South Pacific ally, Australia, honor their veterans today, too, with Remembrance Day. Who do you honor and remember today?
