Doodles the goat escaped her pen for some fun.

UPDATED (9 a.m., Jan. 23): Our Good Samaritan reports that Doodles and her family have been reunited. From Dana Klest: I have the final happy ending to this story! Doodles is home safe with her family of chickens, birds, cats, and dogs and her owners, Joey and Zenobia. She lives on South Howard at Glenwood Avenue, very close to where this story began. A tree fell on the fence at the back of the large property and Doodles decided to go on walk-about. Joey did not even realize that she was missing until after 3 p.m. Tuesday. By that time, she had walked up Glenwood all the way to Maynard Terrace. To keep her from being run over by a car, two men secured her to a tree in a neighbor's front yard in hopes that the owner might drive by. By the …

Man Charged With Murder in Toddler's Death

Medical examiner rules Michael Weeks' death as a homicide.

The man watching his fiancée's little boy on Saturday while she ran some errands has been charged with the child's death. Devon Sawyer, 23, is charged with murder and child cruelty, DeKalb County Police Department spokeswoman Mekka S. Parish, told East Atlanta Patch. He turned himself in to authorities Monday night around 11 p.m. "Based on the medical examiner's findings, the child's death was ruled a homicide," Parish said. "The exact nature of the injuries is not being released at this time." Michael Weeks, who was only 2, was pronounced dead Saturday, Nov. 24, at Hughes Spalding Hospital. DeKalb Police Investigate Toddler Death in Parkview

Boy, 2, died Saturday night.

DeKalb County police are investigating what led to the death of a 2-year-old boy in Parkview Saturday night. Michael Weeks was pronounced dead at Hughes Spalding hospital, according to a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Weeks, who had bruises on his chest and thighs, suffered from cardiac arrest. The boy's mother, left her son in the care of Devon Sawyer, her fiancé, at a home in the 2000 block of Memorial Drive on Saturday afternoon, the AJC reported. She then went to run a number of errands. A short time later, Sawyer sought help from a neighbor who tried to unsuccessfully resuscitate the little boy. They called 911 and Sawyer later told investigators he took a nap with the boy and when he later awoke, he found the toddler …
