A man was shot dead Thursday afternoon in Grant Park, Atlanta police said. Police have no suspects in the shooting on Hill Street and Grant Park Place, where the victim was found with what is believed to be a gunshot wound to the chest in the incident, which occurred around 4 p.m. "Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting," APD spokesman John Chafee said. The victim's name was not released, but Fox 5 Atlanta reported he was a neighborhood resident and in his 50s. Though no eyewitnesses have come forward so far, several people reported hearing at least one gunshot and saw three males running from the area, Chafee said. It's unclear why they ran. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office has identified the man who died Saturday in an early morning shooting in the Reynoldstown neighborhood. The victim, Christopher Walker, died from a gunshot wound, the medical examiner's office said. He was 32. Atlanta police said the shooting occurred around 2 a.m. July 9 in the 100 block of Flat Shoals Avenue. Walker was transported to Grady Hospital, where he later died. A police spokeswoman said investigators have no new leads on suspects.
