by Michelle Woods The FitWit Foundation of Atlanta awarded Maynard Jacskon High School with its "Community Partner of the Year" award on Sunday, Dec. 18. The FitWit Foundation's mission is to help young people live healthy and successful lives. It conducted it's seventh fitness program with teens and teachers at Jackson from September 2011 to October 2011. We have strengthened our alliance and our shared resources with Maynard Jackson High School. This past year was a combined effort in reaching new students, engaging great teachers into the program and giving some great visibility to how organizations and schools can make a joint impact. Contestants need to write an essay explaining they need FitWit to reach fitness goals
For those of us watching our waistlines, the last quarter of the year is a dangerous one. From Halloween to New Year's, there's one temptation after another, as parties, potlucks and other holiday get-togethers center around food most of the time. FitWit, the health and fitness boot camp in Grant Park, Decatur and Midtown, is hosting a contest for those who'll need that extra kick. Contestants must submit an essay of between 500 and 700 words on they need FitWit. The grand prize winner will receive four consectuive FitWit camps, valued at $1,000.
