Traffic Alterts for Water Main Repairs in Edgewood, Other Neighborhoods

Department of Watershed Management work scheduled from Jan. 28 through Feb. 1.

The Atlanta Department of Watershed issued this advisory regarding potential traffic delays connected to planned water main repairs: Contractors will install new water mains at the following locations, reducing traffic to a single lane. Motorists are urged to exercise caution when traveling through the work area and to use alternate routes whenever possible: The work will take place from Monday, Jan. 28 to Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 .

Streetcar Work to Close Portion of Edgewood Avenue

City crews will work from Jan. 10 through Jan. 14 as part of the streetcar's East Loop construction.

The city of Atlanta's Department of Public Works issued this advisory regarding the Old Fourth Ward's Butler Street District: City contractor crews are working to lower water services to facilitate Streetcar construction at the East Loop. WHAT: Street closure along Edgewood Avenue between Jackson Street and Fort Street. WHEN:  Thursday, Jan. 10 to Monday, Jan. 14, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. DETAILS:  Intersections at Jackson Street, W.H. Borders Drive, Hilliard St and Fort Street will remain open to accommodate traffic and the detour routes. Travel along Auburn Avenue and Edgewood Avenue may be challenging over the next several months due to construction activity. UPDATED: Boil Water Advisory Now Lifted

Power outage on Thursday continued problem into Friday and left parts of East Atlanta, Reynoldstown, Kirkwood and East Lake under a boiled water advisory for most of the day Friday.

UPDATED: The Atlanta Dept. of Watershed Management lifted the boiled water advisory shortly after 8:15 p.m. June 29. Original Posting: The Atlanta Dept. of Watershed Mangement's water advisory stemming from a power failure remains in effect until further notice. The affected areas include parts of Reynoldstown, East Lake, Kirkwood and East Atlanta: Customers in those areas should boil water for 1 minute past a rolling boil before using it for cooking, drinking or brushing teeth. Infants, the elderly and those with immune deficiencies should be particularly careful.
