Arrest Made in January Coin Laundry Shooting

Last month, one man was killed and another critically injured during shooting at the North Plaza strip center near the intersection of Boulevard and North Avenue.

The Atlanta Police Department's Homicide Investigation Unit said Tuesday they apprehended a suspected gunman they link to a brazen Old Fourth Ward shootout that occurred on Jan. 14, 2013 outside of a coin laundromat at 628 Boulevard near the North Avenue intersection. According to police, Marcus Morris, 22, was arrested Monday on warrants for murder and aggravated assault. In an earlier Patch report, APD said nearly 20 shots were fired that night outside the laundry in the North Plaza strip center. At the time, Officer Kim Jones said during the incident, "a male ran to the officers with a gunshot wound to the torso.
