Atlanta Neighborhood Charter Vying for $50K Clorox Grant

Charter school in competition to fund upgrades to Related Arts programs and needs your votes to win.

The Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School, which has campuses in Grant Park and Ormewood Park, is competing for a $50,000 grant from the Clorox Co. under that company's Power A Bright Future initiative. Schools from across the country compete for the grant by explaining why they would like the money and what for what it is earmarked. The school with the most votes wins. ANCS' plans for the grant calls for a lighting and sound system improvements at both campuses for its drama program, the purchase of the Yamaha in Music program and equipment for its physical education department, said Lisa Roberson, a parent at the school and one of its board members.
