Police Recover Carjacked Honda, Arrest Three

Atlanta Police are deploying additional officers to Grant Park based on the latest crime patterns, according to a neighborhood official.

GRANT PARK — Atlanta Police have arrested three juveniles who were driving in a Honda Insight that was reported stolen in a carjacking here earlier this week, according to Ron Lall, chairman of the Neighborhood Planning Unit-W's neighborhood safety committee. Police recovered the vehicle and made the arrests during a traffic stop Thursday evening. This incident is at least the 10th carjacking in an East Atlanta Patch neighborhood since Jan. 1. Lall e-mailed residents to let them know the juveniles were charged with theft by receiving and may face additional charges "if the victim is able to confirm their identity through a line up." Carjacking and Armed Robbery in Grant Park

Police looking for a stolen silver/gray Volkswagen Passat with Georgia license plate No. BFP8449.

GRANT PARK — The Grant Park Security Patrol reported that a carjcacking and pedestrian robbery occurred at about 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 13. The carjacking happened on Rosalia Street SE off Boulevard. The victim told police he was working on his silver/gray 2002 Volkswagen Passat station wagon that was parked on Rosalia and as he sat in the driver's seat, a man pointed a black handgun at him and ordered him out of the car. The victim thought the gunman wanted his wallet so got out of the station wagon and handed it over and ran. As he did so, he noticed another man entering the Passat and both carjackers fled the scene. The stolen Passat is a gray with Georgia license plate No. BFP8449. NORTH ORMEWOOD PARK — On the same day Atlanta Police Department announced the capture six men suspected in a string of carjackings including in East Atlanta and Cabbagetown and other parts of the city, a woman reported that she was the victim in yet another incident. The victim, who was injured in the 5 p.m. incident and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment, becomes at least the eighth motorist to be carjacked in an East Atlanta Patch community since Jan. 1. UPDATED: Another Carjacking at Edgewood Retail District

Victim was going to work when his car was taken at gunpoint.

EDGEWOOD — Atlanta police are looking for at least two men who carjacked a man early Jan. 20 in the Edgewood Retail District. The victim, who was headed to work at his job in the shopping center, is the second person to be carjacked at the Edgewood Retail District following another incident on Jan. 17. Meanwhile, Target Corp., which has an achor store at the center, said Monday it is stepping up its own security efforts in the wake of the incidents. Carjacking in East Atlanta

EAST ATLANTA — Atlanta police are looking for three men wanted in connection with an early morning carjacking in the 1500 block of Glenwood Avenue. It's unclear if this incident is related to a seperate carjacking case in Woodland Hills later that same day. The victims told police they were returning from the McDonald's on Moreland Avenue at about 1 a.m Jan. 2 and parked at their home when they saw a red Dodge pick-up truck drive by on Palsey Avenue, the nearest cross-street to their residence. Carjacker Drives Pick-Up Truck into Woodland Hills Home

Responding officer injured; Atlanta police searching for carjacking suspect.

WOODLAND HILLS — Atlanta police are looking for a suspected carjacker of a red pick-up truck that struck a Woodland Avenue home in the early morning hours of Jan. 2. The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. on Woodland near Vickers Street. A responding Atlanta police officer was injured when he fell into a creek, Atlanta Police Department spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones told East Atlanta Patch. That officer was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, Jones said. The incident "was a result of a carjacking," Jones said, adding the suspect remains at large. The homeowner told WSB-TV that the vehicle, which knocked out a column, in front of the home, struck the house near where his toddler slept.

Carjacking in Home Grown Parking Lot

Victim was texting in her car when gunmen pounced, pushed and struck her.

Atlanta police are looking for four men who robbed a woman late Tuesday night in the parking lot of the Home Grown restaurant on Memorial Drive. The victim told police she was parked in the restaurant's lot at the corner of Memorial and Gibson Street SE at about 10 p.m. She said was in the middle of texting when a van suddenly pulled up alongside her 2005 black Honda Civic (license plate No. BIN6013). Four men in their late teens jumped out of the van. One of them, armed with a silver handgun, called her derogatory name, pushed and hit her. He snatched her mobile phone and car keys. Woman Carjacked at Gunpoint in Enso Apartments Parking Garage

Masked gunmen attack in mid-afternoon.

Atlanta police say a woman was carjacked Aug. 28 in the parking garage of the Enso apartment complex at 880 Glenwood Ave. in Grant Park. The victim, 30, told police she was on the fourth floor of the parking garage just before 3:40 p.m. when a black Volkswagen Jetta suddenly pulled up alongside her. Two men, one of whom brandished a silver handgun, demanded her purse and car keys. Both men wore dark-colored bandannas around their faces.
