Trio of Home Burglaries in Grant Park Over Last Three Nights
Several vehicle larcenies reported, too; Grant Park Security Patrol to step up watches.
GRANT PARK — Southeast Atlanta residents are being asked to be vigilant following three burglaries on Cameron and Berne streets and car break-ins those same areas. In all three cases, the incidents occurred in the early evening, Chris Newman, chairman of the Grant Park Neighborhood Association's Public Safety Committee, told East Atlanta Patch. The burglars gained entry to the homes Monday night, there were two incidents, before 8 p.m.; on Saturday, the incident took place before 9:30 p.m., Newman said. In the Saturday incident, the burglars took a laptop, PlayStation 3 console and jewelry. A television was left behind. I agree with JohnK -- easy road access for getaways. Home Park has the same problem, being right at the 75/85 on ramp. Glenwood Park's been hit a few times recently and it's beside an I-20 entrance. Meanwhile, neighborhoods like Morningside and Druid Hills that aren't anywhere near an interstate ramp get burglarized less.
