Bad "Karma" for Vandalized Little 5 Points Boutique

Karma, in Little 5 Points, had its window broken and smashed early Tuesday morning.

LITTLE FIVE POINTS — Atlanta police investigators were still trying to determine if anything was taken from Karma, a Euclid Avenue boutique, following an early morning vandalism incident. According to Officer Kim Jones, an Atlanta Police Department spokeswoman: "The front window was smashed out with large brick around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning." Police did not release further details because investigators had not yet spoken to talk the store owner to see what, if anything, had been taken. Jones told East Atlanta Patch that mannequins near the window were knocked around and scattered, but that it is "unknown what items were taken." Stay with Patch for more as it becomes available.

Surveillance Video Shows 2 Men Attacking Clerk at Reddy Supermarket

Police are asking for your help to find these armed robbers.

KIRKWOOD — Atlanta Police investigators are asking people to take a close look at the attached video to help identify two armed robbers seen assaulting the store clerk at Reddy Supermarket. The assault and theft netted the thieves a few hundred dollars, plus a large amount of cigarettes, along with the car of the store clerk. Police ask that if you have any information about the suspect in this video, call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404.577.TIPS (8477). Police Recover Carjacked Honda, Arrest Three

Atlanta Police are deploying additional officers to Grant Park based on the latest crime patterns, according to a neighborhood official.

GRANT PARK — Atlanta Police have arrested three juveniles who were driving in a Honda Insight that was reported stolen in a carjacking here earlier this week, according to Ron Lall, chairman of the Neighborhood Planning Unit-W's neighborhood safety committee. Police recovered the vehicle and made the arrests during a traffic stop Thursday evening. This incident is at least the 10th carjacking in an East Atlanta Patch neighborhood since Jan. 1. Lall e-mailed residents to let them know the juveniles were charged with theft by receiving and may face additional charges "if the victim is able to confirm their identity through a line up." Can You Identify These Family Dollar Armed Robbers?

Police release pictures of armed robbers in Feb. 15 incident.

EAST ATLANTA — The Atlanta Police Department has released a series of surveillance camera images of three armed robbers who took $400 in a late-night hold-up of the Family Dollar at 1104 Moreland Ave. SE. From APD spokesman Officer John Chafee: "Three male suspects entered the location and robbed the business of approximately $400 in cash. One of the suspects was armed with a rifle." At least one customer and three employees were in the store at the time of the incident, which occurred just before 10 p.m. The customer told police he was purchasing cigarettes when a man came in, pointed a rifle at him while an accomplice grabbed him and took him to the back of the store and left him there. Man Robbed at Gunpoint in East Atlanta Village

Victim said he was robbed by fellow patron of local club.

EAST ATLANTA — A man reported Sunday that he was robbed at gunpoint while sitting in his car. According to the victim, he was in the Asylum bar at 551 Flat Shoals Ave. and left at about 11:40 p.m. to take a short rest in his car, which was parked about 200 feet north of the club. The victim told police he sensed someone following him but thought nothing of it. As he sat in his car, he said he heard a tap on the passenger side window and saw black automatic pistol pointed at him. The gunman told him to give up his items and the victim — who said he recognized the gunman because he saw him in Asylum earlier that evening — handed over his wallet and mobile phone. Carjacking and Armed Robbery in Grant Park

Police looking for a stolen silver/gray Volkswagen Passat with Georgia license plate No. BFP8449.

GRANT PARK — The Grant Park Security Patrol reported that a carjcacking and pedestrian robbery occurred at about 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 13. The carjacking happened on Rosalia Street SE off Boulevard. The victim told police he was working on his silver/gray 2002 Volkswagen Passat station wagon that was parked on Rosalia and as he sat in the driver's seat, a man pointed a black handgun at him and ordered him out of the car. The victim thought the gunman wanted his wallet so got out of the station wagon and handed it over and ran. As he did so, he noticed another man entering the Passat and both carjackers fled the scene. The stolen Passat is a gray with Georgia license plate No. BFP8449. Latest Grant Park Crime Alert: Watch Out for Car Thieves

Over the past weekend, there were at least three cars beak-ins.

GRANT PARK — The Grant Park Neighborhood Association continues to do its part to make residents aware of crime and how to be proactive in reducing it.  The association just reported that over the last weekend there were a number of car break-ins and items taken from cars. GPNA reported that "on Sunday, Feb. 10 at about 7 p.m., a neighbor observed a young black male pulling door handles of vehicles on his street. The thief took off and jumped into a two-door Honda hatchback." The reports states at least three vehicles were burglarized on Killian, Cameron and Rosalia streets. Officers from the Atlanta Police Department's Zone 6 responded quickly according to witnesses and concluded the thief or thieves likely had a "slim-jim" or some other …

Woman Carjacked in North Ormewood Park

Vehicle later found in southwest Atlanta's Greenbriar neighborhood.

NORTH ORMEWOOD PARK — On the same day Atlanta Police Department announced the capture six men suspected in a string of carjackings including in East Atlanta and Cabbagetown and other parts of the city, a woman reported that she was the victim in yet another incident. The victim, who was injured in the 5 p.m. incident and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment, becomes at least the eighth motorist to be carjacked in an East Atlanta Patch community since Jan. 1. Surveillance Video from Chevron Robbery in Little 5 Points

Atlanta Police have released video footage from the weekend robbery at Chevron.

LITTLE FIVE POINTS — The Atlanta Police Department needs your help in identifying the suspect from the Chevron Gas Station robbery that occurred Feb. 3 at 372 Moreland Avenue NE. According to the detailed police report, Officer Thompson along with Officer Hall responded to the call in which a store clerk was robbed at gunpoint. In the report, the clerk statede he "saw the gun pointed at him. He took about $10 to $200 in cash and gave it to the gunman. The suspect then told him to give him some lottery tickets and the clerk pulled out 22 Millionaire Jinge lottery tickets and handed them over. The suspect then left the store.  According to the store clerk and the video footage, the weapon used appeared to be a black revolver and the suspect …

UPDATED: Condesa Coffee Broken Into Again

Condesa Coffee was closed Friday morning for repairs.

OLD FOURTH WARD — Condesa Coffee is recovering today from yet another break-in.  A hand-written note on the front door informed patrons that the business was "closed until further notice due to (another) break-in. Our Apologies."  The message alluded to the break-in that occurred two weeks ago at the same location.  Matthew Davis, Condesa's general manager, recorded a video after the first break-in, in which he shared that a pickaxe was used by the intruder to come through one of their walls. In today's incident, a large window was visibly broken on the side of the business.  The managers of the store were not immediately available to discuss the break-in.
