The victim was shot by two men who stole his wallet.
GRANT PARK — A man was shot and robbed on Georgia Avenue near Grant Street on May 17. The victim, who is in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital, told police he was standing on Georgia Avenue at about 10 p.m. when two men came up to him and shot him. They then took his wallet. The victim, after being shot, walked to the 500 block of Grant Street and collapsed. A pedestrian saw him on the ground and called police.
Victim was shot at least once.
EAST ATLANTA — Atlanta police are seeking the public's help in the shooting death of a man found in the street in the 1200 block of Metropolitan Avenue SE, Saturday night. The 27-year-old victim, who was found at 11:55 p.m., was dead when officers arrived at the scene and appeared to have been shot at least one time. Rash of vehicle break-ins hit East Atlanta Patch neighborhoods.
These last couple of years, catalytic converters have been a popular target of motor vehicle vandals. In many of those cases the thieves have stuck to vehicles made in the USA. But now they're focused on Hondas, the Element specifically and they're hitting Grant Park, Ormewood Park, Reynoldstown and other neighborhoods in Southeast Atlanta. It's so bad that Atlata Police Department officials have said it's one of the biggest crime trends hitting the city right now. Just last week, some 19 vehicles where hit for their catalytic converters, which are part of a vehicle's exhaust system that help convert pollutants to less toxic emissions. OLD FOURTH WARD — Atlanta police detectives are still piecing together events that led to a shooting during the early morning hours on Monday outside of the Savannah Midtown Apartments on North Avenue. Sgt. Gregory Lyon told East Atlanta Patch that "preliminary information is that a 23-year-old male was invited to a party at the location, 215 North Ave." Lyon said the individual was injured by a gunshot wound to the head. "On arrival, he encountered a male with whom he had been having an ongoing dispute. Man was robbed on Flat Shoals Road.
EAST ATLANTA — Another iPhone, another "iTheft." A man reported to police he was the victim of an armed robbery in the 1600 block of Flat Shoals Road late Tuesday. The victim told police he was walking east on Flat Shoals Road just before 11 p.m. on April 7 when two men approached — one armed with a revolver and the other with a semi-automatic handgun. They robbed him of his iPhone and wallet, which contained $30. The men then fled on foot. This latest incident follows a string of iPhone armed robberies and attempted robberies that have plagued the city for the last several months including in Inman Park, Candler Park and Midtown. One of the gunmen put the revolver to the back of the victim's head and demanded he give over everything he had.
GRANT PARK — Quick teamwork and a good old-fashioned foot chase led Atlanta police to nab and arrest three men who robbed a couple in the early morning hours on May 4 as they left the Memorial Drive Tin Lizzy's restaurant. Arrested in the robbery are: All three are charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, aggravated assault and armed robbery. They were taken to the Fulton County Jail. The victims — one a restaurant employee whose shift had ended and the other, his boyfriend — told police they were headed to their car in the adjacent parking lot at Memorial Drive and Oakland Avenue when the three men accosted them at gunpoint. GRANT PARK — A woman walking to the bus stop early Thursday was robbed at gun point, Atlanta police said. The victim told police she was walking to a bus stop at Confederate and Ormewood avenues, at about 6:30 a.m. when a man pointed a small, silver-colored semi-automatic gun at her, and demanded her belongings. The man, whom the victim said is black, last seen wearing a white shirt, black bubble vest and a fitted hat, said, "don't make do it," as he aimed the revolver at her. She handed over her bag and $30 in cash and the man walked away calmly, according to police.

ORMEWOOD PARK — A woman was robbed outside her Gilbert Street home Monday morning, Atlanta police said. The victim told investigators she was leaving her home in the 900 block of Gilbert Street at about 8:45 a.m. when a teen armed with a gray or silver handgun approached her, pointed it at her and demanded her purse and car keys. After she complied, he got in her black, 2007 Mazda 3, backed out into the street and speed off and drove south on Gilbert. The gunman is described as black, 13 to 15 years old, 5'8" tall, with a high Afro cut hairstyle.
