<p>Built in 1967, the Atlanta Civic Center originally served as the city's first convention center. It is named for Boisfeuillet Jones, the Atlanta philanthropist who was president of the Emily and Ernest Woodruff and the Robert W. Woodruff foundations.</p>
<p>Now, the Civic Center is host to a number of touring musical acts and various comedy shows and private events. It seats 4,600 and has about 5,800 square feet of meeting space. It is part of Atlanta's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department.</p>
