Cat Adoptions, Beginner Blacksmithing, Art Attack for Kids

Here's what's on tap for the weekend:

Friday, November 22, 2013:

  • Art Attack's Parent's Night Out: Parent's will enjoy a much needed night out, especially before the start of the Holiday Season. Children will have a blast creating a masterpiece by having art playtime, pizza and juice, games, music and an age appropriate movie. Feel free to bring jammies and a sleeping bag to Martha Brown United Methodist Church, 468 Moreland Ave. SE.

  • $35 per child
  • $50 for two (children from the same family)
  • $60 for three (children from the same family)
  • There will be three Art Attack staff members for this event. R.S.V.P. and pre-purchase is necessary. Purchase with credit card below or contact me via Art Attack, artattackkids@gmail.com or 678-960-9318 to pay by cash, check or credit.
  • Barnes & Noble Edgewood presents Discovery Friday: Throughout the day, we will present storytimes (10AM, 2PM and 7PM), Zoo Atlanta at 3:30PM, hands-on-learning events, including LEGO Legends of Chima Speedorz at 4PM, game and puzzle play with hourly coffee tastings in the cafe, teen and young readers discussion groups for "The Fault in Our Stars" and "The Hunger Games" trilogy starting at 5PM, children's stations with crafts and activities starting at 5PM, a book signing with local author Greg Loomis at 7PM, "Every Reader is a Writer" with Hollis Gillespie at 7:30PM and much more.

    • Cat Adoptions at Petco Atlanta-Edgewood: Come visit the Furkids cats!  Some of our adoptable cats are located in the Petco store to meet and greet with potential families during store hours.  Cats stay overnight and are rotated in/out of the store on a schedule.
    • Beginners Blacksmithing & The Home Forge: This beginner’s blacksmith course held at Nelms Creekmur Forge in the Lake Claire neighborhood of Atlanta will teach some of the basic yet fundamental blacksmithing skills such as drawing out, scrolling, bending, and twisting.

    • Extravagant Art Sale: SIP a little coffee.  DRINK some wine.  NOSH a bit.  BUY some art. This pre-holiday sale features a variety of art (ceramics, jewelry, quilts, paintings, hand-bound books, garden tiles) by local artists.
