The Week Ahead: Peace and Carrots; East Atlanta Community Meeting and More
Your weekly guide to events of note this week to readers of East Atlanta Patch.
- Atlanta Young Singers 2013-2014 Auditions, June 10 at 12 p.m. - 980 Briarcliff Road NE, Atlanta. FREE
- Peace and Carrots Camp, June 11, 8 a.m. at the Berea Mennonite Church, 1088 Bouldercrest Drive SE. Children ages 5 to 12 will work side-by-side with farmers planting and harvesting, taking care of animals, and enjoying the work of the farm. They will also enjoy games, songs, crafts, drama and service and art projects that will affirm their spirits, stimulate their compassion and equip them to disarm both themselves and their 'enemies.'
- East Atlanta Community Association Monthly Meeting, June 11 at 7 p.m. – in Branan Towers, 1200 Glenwood Ave. SE.
- The Fourth Ward Alliance, the neighborhood association that represents a portion of the Old Fourth Ward, is hosting the Fourth Annual Taste of the Fourth on June 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Taste is designed to showcase area restaurants and the $10 per person price of entry will go toward supporting Hope-Hill Elementary School and Old Fourth Ward Patrol.
- Cyclorama Presents Rare Look At Daily Life In Atlanta During Civil War on Thursday, June 13 at 6:30 p.m. Atlanta Cyclorama & Civil War Museum, 800 Cherokee Ave. SE.
