Annual Easter egg hunt scheduled for April 7.

by Mark Clement

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail! It is time for the Candler Park’s annual Easter Egg Hunt.

We will be kicking off the hunt at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 7. We will have three categories in three different areas at the same time.

This year we are going from 2,000 to 2,500 eggs! We promise if you get you kid to the hunt on time and they make their best effort and do not find an egg then they will be able to take the Easter Bunny home with you. (But you will have to feed him.) Each category will have a magic Roster egg — an Easter egg fashioned as a roster with a special prize.

And yeas the non-threatening Easter Bunny will be there. So bring your camera to take that special Easter photo with the kids.

The hunt is brought to you by the Friends of Candler Park and the Candler Park Neighborhood Organization.

As for volunteers? Yep, we need them. We will be having an Easter egg stuffing party at March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Kate Sandhaus' home. Please contact her to confirm your willingness as a volunteer.

The Easter Bunny will need help hiding the eggs, too. To help, please rally at pavilion No. 1 at 10 a.m. April 7.

Last year we hid eggs too early. To our horror we discovered squirrels like Easter eggs almost as much as kids do. So we will need lost of help shortly before the hunt time to hide eggs to minimize the number of eggs that wind up in the trees.

Mr. Clement is chairman of the Friends of Candler Park.
