Two Atlanta Habitat For Humanity Execs Awarded

Business to Business magazine names Martin and Bixler Women of Excellence

Business to Business magazine named Atlanta Habitat for Humanity's Larrie Del Martin and Susan Bixler, chief executive and board member, respectively, 2011 Women of Excellence.

The magazine, which established the Women of Excellence program 13 years ago, seeks to highlight those leaders who contribute to and guide metro Atlanta's civic and buisiness communities. Martin and Bixler, will join 14 other women at the Atlanta History Center July 22 for an awards luncheon.

Atlanta Habitat, one of more than 1,500 U.S. affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International, is a nonprofit organization charged with building affordable homes for working families. The homes built with corporate and civic partnerships, are purchased by those families through no-interest mortgages.

Headquartered in Grant Park, Atlanta Habitat has built more than 1,100 homes in metro Atlanta since 1983.

Martin, who joined Atlanta Habitat in 1997, manages a staff of 42 and an annual budget of $8 million. As chief executive and president of Grant Park-based Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, she is responsible for construction, real estate, education, and mortgage banking, among other duties.

Bixler, founder and chief executive of Bixler Consulting Group, is joined Atlanta Habitat's board in 2008 and is chairwoman of its human resources committee.
