East Lake Comes Out To Help Neighbors In Need
ELF Market holding Ps and Qs annual fundraiser today
East Lake will host its annual "Ps and Qs Event" today at the East Lake Farmer's Market.
Proceeds from the Ps and Qs — which feature photographs from Atlanta's top photographers and barbecue from Community Q — go to the Neighbor In Need program.
Founded eight years ago and a 501(c)(3) charity since 2007, East Lake's NiN helps about 20 households per year in the East Lake, Edgewood and Kirkwood neighborhoods.

"We run on about $40,000- to -$60,000 per year," NiN president Kyle Caldwell explained. "We do emergency home repair like plumbing, no heat, no cool, electrical, roof leaks, etc. There is no charge to the homeowners. We are 100 percent volunteer."
Seniors on fixed incomes can have a difficult time stretching their budgets with rising medical and day-to-day living expenses.

“We love to support Neighbor In Need because they help our long-term residents stay in the homes they have spent their lives in,” ELF Market founder Doug Williams said. “Ps and Qs is one of our favorite events, with art, food, and community coming together to help out our seniors."
The photographers who donated their pictures toward the silent auction include:
- Hector Amador
- Robin Henson
- David Knox
- Kathryn Kolb
- Stephen Lashley
- Kathy Wolfe
Community Q of Decatur will sell BBQ and a side by the plate or pound on-site, with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting the charity.
If you go: Ps and Qs will be held today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ELF Market at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Hosea L. Williams Drive.
