Attention! There's An Alligator In Springvale Park (Sort Of)

Inman Park neighbors join forces to protect a beloved goose named Lucy.

If there's one thing you can say about Inman Park residents, it's that they take care of one another.

And that goes for their fine-feathered friends, too.

Lucy, a beloved goose who's called Springvale Park home for the last couple of years, is a neighborhood favorite.

But last year, a flock of Canada Geese took up temporary residence in the lake at Springvale Park attacked poor Lucy — an Embden Goose  — and drove her out of the park.

So some residents, led by Eleanor Matthews — herself a Canadian — took up the cause to nurse Lucy back to health and giver her some muscle for protection.

Hence: the floating plastic alligator head, which they launched Sunday afternoon. The hope is that the gator head will scare off the Canada Geese.

Hooray! My daughters have been concerned about Lucy. The Canada Geese were a bad element.
