Attention! There's An Alligator In Springvale Park (Sort Of)

Inman Park neighbors join forces to protect a beloved goose named Lucy.

If there's one thing you can say about Inman Park residents, it's that they take care of one another.

And that goes for their fine-feathered friends, too.

Lucy, a beloved goose who's called Springvale Park home for the last couple of years, is a neighborhood favorite.

But last year, a flock of Canada Geese took up temporary residence in the lake at Springvale Park attacked poor Lucy — an Embden Goose  — and drove her out of the park.

So some residents, led by Eleanor Matthews — herself a Canadian — took up the cause to nurse Lucy back to health and giver her some muscle for protection.

Hence: the floating plastic alligator head, which they launched Sunday afternoon. The hope is that the gator head will scare off the Canada Geese.
