Need To Get Fit? FitWit Boot Camp Contest Provides Opportunity

Contestants need to write an essay explaining they need FitWit to reach fitness goals

For those of us watching our waistlines, the last quarter of the year is a dangerous one.

From Halloween to New Year's, there's one temptation after another, as parties, potlucks and other holiday get-togethers center around food most of the time.

, Decatur and Midtown, is hosting a contest for those who'll need that extra kick.

Contestants must submit an essay of between 500 and 700 words on they need FitWit.

The grand prize winner will receive four consectuive FitWit camps, valued at $1,000. He or she also will blog about their journey toward getting fit.

FitWit also will give out one free boot camp to a runner up in each of its three locations.

“Community is the core of FitWit," Michelle Woods, FitWit program director said in a statement. "This contest gives us an opportunity to share our program with a larger audience, further extending our reach into the community. Six months in our program can really change someone’s life, and we feel privileged to be a part of that transformation."

The deadline to enter is Dec. 6. Winners will be announced at FitWit's annual banquet Dec. 11.
