Feb. 25:

holds its "Rockin Winter Soiree-GPCP's Annual Auction & Art Show" at the Jane. Among the items up for auction: “Stock the bar”- a collection of over 20 premium bottles of liquor, mixers and a bartender's handbook; exclusive up-close Wild Encounters at Zoo Atlanta that include opportunities to go behind-the-scenes and feed giant panda, Komodo dragon and African elephant; photography, and a raffle drawing for an iPad 2. This year’s live music features Atlanta’s own Yacht Rock Schooner.

Soccer in the Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The American Youth Soccer Organization is holding a registration event at the Grant Park Recreation Center between 11am and 4pm for youth soccer registration and fun activities. Games will be held at the new Boulevard Crossing Park soccer fields, with practice locations determined by each team. The cost is $65 per child registered before February 28th. The cost is $85 per child after the 28th and registration closes March 12th. You can register in person at the recreation center or online at www.AYSOatlanta.org. If you need financial assistance or think you may be eligible, scholarships are available. Please come to the registration event to take advantage of this offer. Registration includes complete uniform, the 11-week season, and pictures. From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., AYSO will host Youth Soccer Clinics for $20. Participants will receive a soccer ball, t-shirt and $10 off Spring Programs registration.

Feb. 29:

Open House Tour & Registration. Every Wednesday, the school, located at 158 Moreland Ave. SE, will tour new families to show them what the school looks like, what sorts of projects the children are working on and answer questions about the curriculum and school policies. March 2:

Parkside Elementary to Contact International Space Station
Students, parents and community stakeholders of Parkside Elementary School in Grant Park will participate in NASA's education activity known as Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) on March 2, 2012. ARISS uses the unique environment of space flight to increase student interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics by making contact with crewmembers aboard the International Space Station via amateur radio.

March 3:

The Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School hosts its Right Brain Ball, a fundraiser
that includes raffles, silent & live auctions with packages in all different price ranges: from artwork, vacation homes, catered parties, gift certificates for restaurants. The raffle packages value are in excess of $1000 each. The event, which will be held at 200 Peachtree, includes dinner catered by Endive, live music by versatile cover-band The Wallbangers and emceed by Hollis Gillespie. Doors open at 5:00pm and the event runs until 10:00pm.  Tickets to the Right Brain Ball are available online at http://atlncs.org/auction/buy-tickets/ (via Paypal) and at several Grant Park, Ormewood and East Atlanta retailers. Ticket price includes convenient parking connected to the Atrium. Cash bar. All proceeds go directly to the ANCS.
