The Ormewood School and Ormewood Presbyterian Church To Build New Neighborhood Park

The Ormewood School and Ormewood Park Presbyterian Church are excited to build a new playground for the Ormewood community!

ORMEWOOD PARK — This community knows unstructured playground fun can make an enormous difference on the well-being and health of a child. That's why The Ormewood School along with Ormewood Park Presbyterian are building a great new play space.

According to a news release, the park will be located at 1071 Delaware Ave. SE, and will be open to the entire community.

The group's first step "was to apply for a KaBOOM! grant, which we did through their "Our Dream Playground" video contest," said Cindy Cahalen, Ormewood School director.

The results of the grant proposal are expected any day now, but regardless of the grant, Cahalen said "we are still committed to building a playground and we'll need your help with everything including planning, designing the space, fundraising, and of course building it!

"If you'd like to help, go to our webpage and watch the video and click on the "volunteer" button. You can sign up for specific committees or just throw your name in to be used where most needed.
