Pre-k Registration Lottery Scheduled for Next Month

Three registration sites, including Jackson High School

Atlanta Public Schools officials said Wednesday the district will hold week-end registrations for the 2011-12 Pre-kindergarten school year.

The budget, number of classes, class size, staffing and school year calendar for the Pre-K program are determined by the state, which has not yet those criteria.

But the registrations are in advance of the Pre-k lottery that will determine which children gets those state-funded slots.
