Jackson High Video Production Team is Going to NYC as National Video of the Year Finalists

Maynard Jackson High School's video production wins the 2013 Kid Witness News (KWN) New Vision and Eco Effect Award.

Congratulations are in order for the Maynard Jackson High School’s video production which won the 2013 Kid Witness News (KWN) New Vision and Eco Effect Award. By winning this award, Jackson High is just one of four schools nationally that will be invited to NYC for the final trophy presentation.

According to the TalkUp APS blog, "Jackson is one of four schools across the country to receive this award, which includes an all-expense paid trip to the KWN Winners Weekend in New York."

Jackson High students had to create an “Eco-Effect PSA", in which they discussed the environment and how to protect it for generations to come. The ceremony will be held at Panasonic Corp.'s New Jersey headquarters on Friday, May 10, 2013.

The APS Blog reports "KWN is a hands-on video education program with an emphasis on team-centered learning that encourages students to develop valuable cognitive, communication and organizational skills through the use of state-of-the-art, high definition video technology."

Congratulations to the students and teachers at Maynard Jackson High School who had a part in creating the award winning PSA.
