Georgia State Creates Clinic for Broker Fraud Victims

Students will help educate investors on ways they can avoid financial fraud.

DOWNTOWN — Georgia State University and Secretary of State Brian Kemp's office have teamed up to create a clinic aimed at helping victims of broker fraud.

GSU's College of Law new clinic lets students, who are under faculty supervision, get real world experience as they help represent investors who have suffered losses because of broker misconduct.

Additionally, those students will help educate investors on ways they can avoid financial fraud through a number of initiatives including a forthcoming blog with investment information and resources.

The law school operates other clinics for Georgians, including the HeLP Clinic, which gives free legal services to low-income children and their families at two of Children’s Healthcare hospitals and at the in-house clinic at the law school.
