Historian and Journalist Marc Wortman

Historian and journalist Marc Wortman, author of the regional bestselling The Bonfire: The Siege and Burning of Atlanta, explores the Civil War rise and fall of Atlanta in a lecture and slide show.  A railroad junction town in 1861, by 1864 Atlanta became, next to Richmond, the most important Confederate city.  Even as General Sherman's Union Army prepared its destruction, Atlanta's loyalties remained divided.

Reception begins at 6:30pm and the program begins at 7:00pm.  Copies of The Bonfire will be available for purchase.
