Construction Update: Georgia State University's School of Law

The $82.5 million project is slated for a fall 2015 opening.

DOWNTOWN — Georgia State University's expansion continues.

The university, which has been on an acquisition tear in recent years and shows no signs of stopping.

GSU's new law school will be constructed at the corner of John Wesley Dobbs Avenue and Park Place.

As planned, the $82.5 million project, slated for a fall 2015 opening, will be 200,000 square feet and include a conference center, mock courtroom and International Arbitration Center, among other amenities.

McCarthy Building Cos. Inc. is the company that will build the facility, which broke ground earlier this month. The new structure will replace the current law school, which the university has outgrown.

Immovable Media captured a short video of the planned site, which is attached to this post. For a look at what the finish concept is to look like, GSU has created a "sneak peek" page on Facebook.
