Burgess Peterson Academy Targeted to Receive $3,000

East Atlanta school seeks volunteers today with book drive efforts

Target Corp. is donating $3,000 to Academy in East Atlanta to buy new books.

The school, located at the Glenwood Avenue SE and Clifton Street SE intersections, is looking for volunteers to sort the books between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. today.

Volunteers will help unpack, sort, plate the books and prepare them for the children who will have a "Reading Day" April 15.

The school also is looking for a little muscle — people wit screwdrivers to help put some bookshelves together.

If you're interested (and you needn't stay the whole time) contact school Principal Robin Robbins here or stop in directly at the school office.
