APS Redistricting: Special Meetings Called For D.H. Stanton Elementary Closure

Parents will get a chance to give input.

Atlanta Public Schools will host two community meetings for D.H. Stanton Elementary School to discuss its proposed closure as outlined in the final plan district superintendent Erroll B. Davis Jr. released Saturday.

By law, whenever a school is targeted for closure, officials in a school district are required to host two meetings to get input from those affected.

APS has already held its required meetings for eight of the schools the superintendent is recommending for closure.

But D.H. Stanton, located in the Peoplestown neighborhood, wasn't on Davis' list.

The meeting dates are:

  • Thursday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Monday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m.

D.H. Stanton is located at 970 Martin St., Atlanta, 30315.

The APS board of education is expected vote on Davis' recommendations during  special meeting scheduled for April 10 at .
