APS Redistricting: Next Round Of Community Meetings Announced

Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Erroll B. Davis Jr. has scheduled a community meeting on his redistricting plan from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at in Grant Park.

The meeting for School Reform Team 3, those schools zoned to Jackson High School and Grady High School in Midtown, is among several Davis will hold across the city, according to the APS Web site.

After receiving the concluding demographers' report on school redistricting, Davis is to submit his proposal to the Atlanta School Board, which will make the final decision.

The demographers have received community comments on , which includes their plans for reducing overcrowding in in some schools such as Mary Lin Elementary in Candler Park and underutilization at others, such as Cook Elementary in Capitol Gateway. Davis has said he will not be bound by the demographers' report in making his recommendation to the board.

Schools zoned to Grady and Jackson
