New Self-Storage Facility Opens on Edgewood Avenue

The old A.C White building has been converted.

OLD FOURTH WARD — A Midtown-based self-storage company with locations in Alabama and metro Atlanta, has opened its first in-town outlet on the Edgewood Avenue corridor.

The Storage Neighbor, which has 11 other locations, took over the former A.C. White Transfer & Storage Co. at 660 Edgewood Ave., near the Inman Park neighborhood boundary.

"The supply of self-storage in Inman Park and Old Fourth Ward is under-supplied, but what attracted us to the location was the opportunity to participate in the adaptive re-use of an abandoned building and take part in the revitalization of the Edgewood corridor," Shelby Brennan, the company's marketing director, told East Atlanta Patch.

"We are excited to be a part of the community and look forward to the opportunity to support various neighborhood initiatives that benefit the surrounding area."

As it stands now, the company has completed the first phase of the project.

When the second phase is completed — projected for the early part of this year — the building will have 52,961 square feet of climate-controlled self-storage space.

It also will have another 800 square feet of retail space that the company is looking to rent to a non-profit, retailer or other type of business, Brennan said.

It's great to know about the new self storage unit resource. Hope it will be helpful for most of the people who are seeking for it.

It is indeed an ideal location, where self-storage facilities are under-supplied and to utilize an under-used/abandoned building is very smart too. Self-storage units have become a useful trend these days because more and more people are shifting about and doing renovation works that require them to temporarily vacate their house.

We spotted her last night (Thursday) just before the storm hit and chased her down May to CliftonRead More then up to Glenwood, where we think she turned into that development under construction across from the school. The storm swept in, and we lost her ... she was clearly panicked. Been back on the hunt this morning with no sign. Please call or text us at 423-653-5636 if you spot her!!!
