Avenue Realty Leaves Village for Grant Park

Dedicated covered parking was big incentive owner says.

EAST ATLANTA VILLAGE — After eight years of calling 508 Flat Shoals Ave. home, Avenue Realty has left for new offices in the Enso apartment complex on Bill Kennedy Way in Grant Park.

Shane Little, Avenue Realty's owner, said he enjoyed being in East Atlanta and that his firm will continue to sponsor neighborhood events, but parking was an issue.

"They gave me 150 covered parking spaces," Little, an East Atlanta resident, said.

In adddition, there were other incentives that further made relocating enticing, Little said.

Parking for the firm's customers, as well as its neighbor businesses, which include Joe's East Atlanta Coffee Shop and Pure Upscale Hair Studio, has been tight since the loss of spaces in the lot behind those shops during the day.

That lot, located off Glenwoood Avenue, is for the use of SunTrust customers who complained last year that patrons of other Village businesses were hogging spaces marked for the bank's clients exclusively.

Those complaints led the bank to threaten to boot motorists who didn't have bank business, but yet parked in the lot anyway.
