Trash Collection Expected to Return to Normalcy Next Week

Only minimal pick-ups of yard trimmings until next week.

The cold weather earlier this week has made trash pick-up late all week.

The Department of Public Works said it it's still working through the backlog, but the agency expects to be fully back to normal next week.

On Thursday, the DPW spent the day collecting on Wednesday's pick-up schedule.

Any remaining Thursday pick-ups is expected to be will be collected by the end of this week.

"The full pick-up schedule including household garbage, recycling, and yard trimmings, should be back to normal by next week," department spokeswoman Valerie Bell-Smith said in a statement.
