Streetcar Project On Edgewood Avenue To Cause Delays

Sewer lines being rerouted in project scheduled to last through Feb. 23.

Residents and motorists who use the Edgewood Avenue corridor will experience road closures from now through Feb. 23 as the city relocates several sewer lines as part of the Atlanta Streetcar project.

The affected streets include Edgewood Avenue between Hilliard and Jackson streets and Jackson Street between Auburn and Edgewood avenues.

The crews will work on a 24-hour basis Monday through Saturday, the city's department of watershed management said in an advisory.

While traffic controls are in place to redirect motorists around the construction areas, motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes if they can.
