Oakhurst Is Decatur's Bluest Precinct, With 84% for Obama

A Patch precinct breakdown shows Clairemont East and West were the lightest blue, at 69 percent each. Overall, 77 percent of Decatur voters went for the president. At the Avondale Estates City Hall precinct, 60 percent of voters supported Obama.

 

Here's how votes in Decatur and Avondale Estates broke down for the presidential election a week ago.

The Decatur and Avondale Estates were drawn from a widget previously published on Patch. Percentages are in parentheses and are rounded.

The county and state numbers come from DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections Office and the national figures from Huffington Post.

The overall breakdowns were: Decatur, Romney 21 percent and Obama 77 percent; DeKalb County, Romney 21.06 percent and Obama 77.86 percent; Georgia, Romney 53.34 percent and Obama 45.5 percent; and the United States, Romney 47.9 percent and Obama 50.06 percent.

Dear President Obama voters, enjoy your trillion dollar deficits, high unemployment, and food stamps. Four more years.

Many of us think of Decatur as I kind of island within the county, and in many ways it is. So it is interesting to note that the percentage breakdown of voitng in the election was indentical to the breakdown in DeKalb County as a whole.

Maybe they were all coerced into voting that way.
