Moreland Avenue Planning Study Meeting Scheduled for Sept. 6

City planning department and Councilwoman Carla Smith to give overview on proposed development guidelines.

The city's Office of Planning, along with District 1 Councilwoman Carla Smith and District 12 Councilwoman Joyce M. Sheperd are hosting a series of neighborhood meetings to present a brief review and update of the proposed zoning changes for the South Moreland Avenue Livable Centers Initiative Study.

They also will gather public input from the community with respect to the proposed district provisions and boundaries of the proposed development districts.

The first such meeting is scheduled for this Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Martha Brown Methodist Church in East Atlanta.

The South Moreland Avenue LCI Study was completed in 2008 and established guidelines about how the corridor south of I-20 ought to be developed.

The meetings follow Smith's Aug. 15 ordinance proposal to rezone some properties on Moreland Avenue to the suggested recommendations as outlined in the LCI study.

We spotted her last night (Thursday) just before the storm hit and chased her down May to CliftonRead More then up to Glenwood, where we think she turned into that development under construction across from the school. The storm swept in, and we lost her ... she was clearly panicked. Been back on the hunt this morning with no sign. Please call or text us at 423-653-5636 if you spot her!!!
