Kirkwood Businesswoman Announces Candidacy for District 5 City Council Seat

Editor's note: This is the official statement by Christian Enterkin's campaign announcing her candidacy for Atlanta City Council District 5. In announcing a run for the seat, she joins East Atlanta real estate professional Matt Rinker in trying to unseat incumbent Natalyn M. Archibong, an East Atlanta attorney, in this November's elections.

KIRKWOOD — Christian Enterkin officially declares her candidacy for Atlanta City Council – District 5. Enterkin, a successful businesswoman and vice president of Landmark Dividends, plans to bring her knowledge gained in the private sector to Atlanta’s city government. She is committed to helping the city run more efficiently and improving customer service.

Christian Enterkin is a long-time homeowner in District 5’s Kirkwood community. She currently serves as public safety chairwoman of the Kirkwood Civic Association, where she works with community stakeholders to create ways to improve public safety.

"I am very disappointed with the amount of violent crime taking place along the East Atlanta corridor. I feel that it’s very important to have a strong advocate and a fresh voice representing the values of the hardworking residents of District 5. I never imagined that I would be a candidate for public office – but, after much deliberation and conversation with friends and neighbors, we decided that this is the right time to make change happen in our community.”

Christian Enterkin is currently listening to the voters of District 5 so that she can most effectively represent their concerns at City Hall.

“The response has been tremendously positive. People are asking how they can help all over the city. To some, challenging a long-term incumbent (Natalyn Archibong) may seem daunting, but if you know anything about Atlantans, they’re always up to the task of making breakthroughs. I’m committed to contributing and raising whatever amount of resources it takes to effectively get our positive message to the voters of council district 5.”

The Christian Enterkin campaign is proudly debuting her official campaign website at www.christianenterkin.com. Feel free to call or email if you would like to join our positive campaign to improve Atlanta.

The following communities comprise the recently re-drawn Atlanta City Council – District 5: Cabbagetown, Capital Gateway, Downtown, East Atlanta, East Lake, Edgewood, Glenwood, Kirkwood, Reynoldstown, and Lake Claire. Atlanta City Council – District 5 encompasses large portions of Atlanta in DeKalb and stretches to downtown Atlanta in Fulton County.
