Johnson Named Interim Finance Chairman for DeKalb County
Johnson replaces Lee May who was tapped to be interim CEO of DeKalb County.
DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson, whose District 3 includes Gresham Park, was named interim chairman of the Finance, Audit & Budget Committee.
He replaces Commissioner Lee May.
Gov. Nathan Deal named May interim DeKalb County CEO when Burrell Ellis, was indicted on 15 counts in June.

“We have a number of priorities that we are working on and we, as a collective Board and the CEO’s Office will begin working on the budget for 2014,” Johnson said in a statement.
Johnson who has served on the Board of Commissioners for 11 years has chaired several committees. Currently, he serves as chairman of Planning and Economic Development and served as chairman of the Budget Committee from 2005 to 2007.
