Five Things Occurring This Week

Events of note in East Atlanta Patch the week of Jan. 9

Monday:

  • Atlanta Public Schools community meeting at 6 p.m. at 130 Trinity Ave. SW. Among the topics of discussion: redistricting of APS schools. Those wishing to speak are asked to be arriving slightly early and sign up by 5:40 p.m.
  • The Wrecking Bar in Inman Park launches its Neighborhood Appreciation Month with a weeklong thank you to the Little Five Points Police Mini Precinct. A portion of all food and drink sales from the week will go toward mini precinct.

  • The Fourth Ward Alliance hosts Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall who will discuss a series of plans and initiatives designed to boost public safety and improve the quality of life on the Boulevard corridor in the Old Fourth Ward. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. and goes to 9:30 p.m. at AMLI Parkside, 660 Ralph McGill Blvd. NE.
  • The South Atlantans for Neighborhood Development — SAND — meets at 7:30 p.m. in the Beulah Heights University Student Center, 892 Berne Street.
