2011 City of Atlanta's Annual Earth Day Collection

Neighborhood associations and community groups can obtain free paint for beautification projects as well as recycle electronics and latex paint celebration of Earth Day.

Neighborhood associations and community groups can obtain free 5-gallon containers of paint in assorted colors for neighborhood beautification projects, including ridding intown communities of graffiti, by registering at here.  

Projects may also include abandoned property beautification and senior/disabled citizens housing improvements.

In addition, the first 100 cars to drop off electronic items at the annual collection day will receive a free one-gallon can of Legacy Recycled Paint and will have the opportunity win for a free rain barrel.  Residents can bring their old latex paint for recycling.

District 1 City Councilmember Carla Smith has partnered with Live Thrive, Atlanta Recycling Solutions, Keep Atlanta Beautiful and Turner Field to collect and recycle computers and other household electronics.  Atlanta Paint Disposal will collect discarded latex paint at the event.

  • Floppy Drives

  • Test & Networking Equipment

  • Scanners
  • Curcuit Boards
  • Speakers
  • Eelectrical Panels
  • Typewriters

 The following items will not be accepted: consoles, projection televisions, vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers, de-humidifiers or humidifiers, gas-powered equipment, tires, household trash and NON-electronic equipment.
