Crime & Punishment: What Happened To Criminals After They Were Arrested

A rundown of the recent sentences handed down on those accused of crimes in the East Atlanta Patch neighborhoods of APD Zone 6.

Crime is a major concern for many in the neighborhoods of East Atlanta Patch.

And while the initial incidents or arrests get most of the attention, how they're settled once they get to court doesn't always get as much focus.

At Tuesday night's Neighborhood Planning Unit-M meeting, Paul Arena-Camarillo, an assistant district attorney with the Fulton County District Attorney's Office, gave an accounting of recent dispositions regarding crimes within Zone 6 of the Atlanta Police Department.

Zone 6 is comprised of neighborhoods in Fulton and DeKalb counties.

The Atlanta-in-DeKalb communities of East Atlanta, Kirkwood, Candler Park, Edgewood, Lake Claire and East Lake are under the jurisdiction of the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office and are not in Arena-Camarillo's update.
