Candidate Michael Johnson "In His Own Words", Running for U.S. Congress

Michael Johnson takes on Rep. John Lewis for the District 5 United States House of Representatives.

Judge Michael Johnson says the time is now for a change in the United States Congress, and he is attempting to make that change by winning the District 5 seat from Rep. John Lewis.

District 5 includes most of the neighborhoods that comprise East Atlanta Patch.

Michael was born here in the 5th district on June 21, 1968, to Miller Johnson Jr. and Charlotte Mize Johnson. His father graduated from Turner High School and Morehouse College and his mother graduated from Howard High School and Spelman College.

Johnson who was a Fulton County Superior Court Judge before announcing his cnadidacy for Congress, says that he looks forward to working with the President to lower unemployment and foreclosure rates, which are both high in District 5, as well as finding a solution to keep social security available and viable.

He is scheduled to participate in a debate this Sunday, July 29 sponsored by the Atlanta Press Club.
