Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs to Celebrate 40th Anniversary

The celebration will be held May 4.

City officials will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Atlanta’s Office of Cultural Affairs next month with a jazz concert and party at the Oakland Cemetery, the Associated Press reported today.

The celebration will be held May 4 and will also honor former Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson. Jackson founded the Office of Cultural Affairs and the Atlanta Jazz Festival, and he is buried in the cemetery.

The event is also expected to feature a multimedia presentation, which is being held in partnership with the Atlanta University Center, the AP reported.
