The Week Ahead: Multi-Neighborhood Crime and Public Safety Meeting

Since the murder of bartender John Henderson in 2009, intown Atlanta residents in the neighborhoods surrounding Turner Field and Zoo Atlanta have rallied together in response to violent crime.

A spate of recent murders and robberies near the home of the Atlanta Braves, including the murders of Grant Park resident David McReynolds one year ago and East Atlanta resident Patrick Cotrona earlier this year, has reignited public outrage in the area. Residents and leaders of Grant Park, East Atlanta, Peoplestown, Kirkwood, Chosewood Park and other local communities have scheduled a joint neighborhood meeting designed to propose solutions to combating crime.
